Claire Backner

Claire is an associate with a background in public relations and strategic communications for consumer brands and nonprofits. She has a passion for the intersections between psychology and communications.

Before joining Crosscut, Claire interned at Power Digital Marketing, working on accounts in the food and beverage and sustainability spaces. Through this role, she had the opportunity to create comprehensive PR plans for clients and discovered her passion for branding and messaging. Claire previously interned at a fashion public relations agency in New York City and interned at RAINN, the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, where she had the opportunity to work to spread a message of support and advocacy.

Claire graduated Summa Cum Laude from George Washington University with a B.A. in Communication and Psychology. At GW, she served as the Executive Vice President of the GW American Marketing Association.
